Max Correa is entering his fourth season at the College of Charleston, his third as an assistant after spending one season as the director of operations and player development in 2020.
In 2023, the Cougars finished the season with a 6-6-5 record including five home wins. Starting the season with seven-straight undefeated games, Charleston picked up wins over Coastal Carolina and Georgia Southern. The Cougars went on to defeat William & Mary and Drexel in the regular season, finishing the season with a victory versus Winthrop at home.
In 2022, Charleston posted a 5-7-5 record. The Cougars achieved a 5-0-3 record on home turf. In their first game against a conference foe, the Cougars won 2-0 over the Blue Hens of Delaware.
In 2021, the Cougars posted a 5-8-3 record. Charleston began the season with a bang, knocking off South Carolina, 1-0, in extra time in Columbia. Wiggans' squad did not allow a goal for the first three matches of the 2021 campaign.
Correa comes to College of Charleston from Wilkes College in Wilkes-Barre, Pa., where he was an assistant coach since 2019. He assisted with training sessions as well as recruiting and travel logistics and planned scouting reports and ID clinics.
He also coached with the United Soccer Academy from 2017-20 and the Montclair United Soccer Club from 2019-20.
Correa currently has his USSF B License & SFA UEFA C Diploma.
Correa was a two-time All-Landmark Conference selection during his playing career at Drew (N.J.) University. He ranks third in school history in career assists and played for a conference championship team and Sweet 16 qualifier in 2017.
He graduated from Drew in 2019.
